Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) is non-governmental, non-profit legislative advocacy, information sharing and research organization, arising from the felt need to address defects in the legislative advocacy work of civil society and open the window through which legislators can also access civil society groups. It aims to strengthen the work of Civil Society on Legislative Advocacy and bridge the gap between legislators and the Civil Society. CISLAC has a United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Status.
As part of our commitment to the United Nations ECOSOC deliverables, CISLAC is hosting its annual side event to mark this year’s UN Commission 62nd session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW 62) with the theme ‘Rural Women.’ This event, titled “Policy and Legislative Intervention on Empowering the Girl-Child,” is very crucial as it brings to limelight the issue of the girl-child and women’s struggles.
The event seeks to interrogate the issues of irregular migration, early child marriage, health and education, accent on Nigeria, and proffer recommendations from a legislative and policy angle of intervention.
The CISLAC meeting in New York is scheduled as follows:
Venue: 4 W 43rd Street New York, NY 10036
Room: Blue Room
You are all highly invited.
